The prompt · ChatGPT
Help me write a CV after a career gap. My work before the gap: [jobs and dates] The gap: [dates, and the reason in a few words, e.g. caring for my dad] How much I'm happy to share: [e.g. just "family reasons", or more] What I did during it: [e.g. volunteering, courses, PTA treasurer, running a home] The job I'm going for: [title or paste the ad] Ask me up to 3 short questions first if anything important is missing. Wait for my answers. Then: 1. A one-line entry for the gap, in the work history, in the tone I've chosen. 2. A profile that leads with what I can do now, not with the gap. 3. Skills from the gap that matter for this job, written as bullets with evidence. 4. My experience, with the most relevant bullets first. 5. A 20-second interview answer about the gap that ends on why I'm ready now. Calm and confident, no apologies. Only use what I've told you, leave blanks for anything I haven't given, and don't invent facts, dates or results. UK English. Stay in this ChatGPT chat.
